Cornwall & The Eden Project
The Eden Project is just 20 minutes drive from Fowey. Stay at Fowey Hall or at the Old Quay House Hotel on the water's edge in the town.

Day 1- red route
This is Eden Project day. If you're keen on gardens, you may like to spend all day there. Otherwise, a good half day is required. Pop down into Fowey when you return for tea, an evening drink or meal. You could also pay a visit to Fowey today, a pretty little town on the side of the River Fowey. This is Daphne du Maurier country, and there's a museum telling all about her life and work. The Daphne du Maurier festival takes place every year in May.
Day 2 - blue route
Head to Plymouth today. Visit the Barbican area from Plymouth Hoe and the Sound from the Citadelwhere the Pilgrim Fathers set sail back in the 17th century to discover America, and Plymouth Hoe where Sir Francis Drake finished a game of bowls before setting sail to defeat the Spanish Armada. Take a boat trip from the Barbican to see Plymouth from the sea.
Day 3 - pink route
Head up to the north Cornwall coast today, and to the fishing port of Padstow, home of the celebrity chef Rick Stein. You may like to book to eat in one of his restaurants or simply sample some of his fish and chips from Stein's Fish and Chip shop at the fish market. From Padstow, continue on to visit Prideaux Place, a historic house and home to Lord and Lady Prideaux-Brune.
Day 4- green route
Take a peep at the Cornish fishing village of Mevagissey this morning on route to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. From there, head down to Cornwall's county town of Truro with it's impressive cathedral.
Day 5 - orange route
Head up to Lanhydrock House today. Lanhydrock has been used as a film location for Much ado about Nothing as well as many other film productions. If you like Steam Railways, there's the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway which runs up to Wadebridge from Bodmin, or head across Bodmin moor to the coast to visit Tintagel Castle, birthplace of the legendary King Arthur.
Day 6 - blue route
Head west to St. Mawes today visiting the pretty village and the castle. From St Mawes you can take a boat trip across the Carrick Roads (a network of estuaries) to Falmouth.
